Looking Back: The Beginning of Ramlegh Springs Medical Centre

Every successful healthcare fitout begins with a clear vision, and at Ramlegh Springs Medical Centre, that journey started with a blank canvas.

Located in Clyde North, Victoria, this Melbourne-based medical fitout project began as an empty shell, offering an opportunity to create a purpose-built environment from the ground up. With no existing constraints, the space allowed for a highly considered approach to planning, functionality, and patient experience, key pillars of any successful healthcare fitout.

As we look back at the early stages of the build, the space was raw and unformed yet full of potential. This initial phase focused on defining the layout and establishing the framework for a modern medical clinic that would support both clinical efficiency and patient comfort.

Take a look at the space in the video below, where we walk through the site during phase one of the project. Here, we capture the empty shell in its original state, providing a valuable visual reference of the starting point before construction and fitout works commenced. It’s a brief walkthrough designed to highlight the scale of the tenancy and the vision for what it would become.

From the outset, the design was carefully planned to accommodate a wide range of medical and support services. The layout includes:

  • 9 consultation rooms, designed for flexibility and day-to-day efficiency
  • 1 isolation treatment room to support infection control requirements
  • A dedicated treatment room for procedures and patient care
  • A pathology room to enable on-site diagnostic services
  • An allied health room to support integrated care delivery
  • A welcoming reception and waiting area to enhance patient experience
  • A kids’ play area to create a family-friendly environment
  • A staff room with kitchenette to support team wellbeing
  • Storage and communications rooms for operational functionality
  • A DDA-compliant toilet and unisex staff toilet
  • Two male and two female patient toilets to accommodate high traffic

This early walkthrough not only highlights the scale of the project but also reflects the strategic thinking behind a high-performing medical fitout in Melbourne’s rapidly growing Clyde North region.

By capturing this moment in time, the video serves as a reminder of where the project began, before walls were framed, services installed, and finishes applied. It’s a snapshot of possibility, marking the first step in transforming an empty shell into a fully operational healthcare environment.

Stay tuned as we continue to share more from the Ramlegh Springs Medical Centre journey, showcasing the evolution from concept through to completion.
