Reflecting on the Year: Project SPotlight – Epichealth Medical Clinic
As we look back on our projects this year, we’re proud to share more on the spaces that truly reflect our approach to medical design. One such project was the complete medical clinic fitout for Epichealth Medical Clinic in Ocean Grove.
This project marked an exciting new chapter for Epichealth, delivering an upgraded, purpose-built clinic that balances contemporary design with highly functional healthcare workflows.
A New Beginning for Epichealth Medical Clinic
Director, Peggy Leung, had an established clinic in Ocean Grove but was faced with the need to relocate. Rather than simply replicating her previous space, Peggy saw this as an opportunity to elevate the clinic environment.
Her vision was clear: a modern, welcoming medical clinic that felt warm and calm, while also providing an efficient, well-considered layout for healthcare staff. The new space needed to support patient comfort, staff wellbeing, and the daily operational demands of a busy medical practice.
Our role was to translate that vision into a fully realised medical fitout that balanced aesthetics, compliance, durability, and workflow efficiency.
Designing a Clinic That Feels Warm and Modern
A key focus of the Epichealth project was moving away from the cold, overly clinical feel often associated with medical spaces. Instead, the design embraces warmth through considered colour, material selection, and lighting.
Working closely with Peggy, our design team integrated Epichealth’s brand colour palette throughout the clinic. These colours were used subtly and strategically, reinforcing brand identity while creating a cohesive and welcoming environment for patients.
Using these colours throughout key walls and accent areas allowed us to:
- Introduce a warm, welcoming tone that avoids the starkness of typical clinical whites
- Anchor the space with a brand-aligned colour that feels natural and calming
- Enhance patient comfort by creating an interior that feels approachable and inviting
- Maintain durability and easy maintenance appropriate for a high-traffic medical environment
The result is a space that feels contemporary and calming from the moment patients arrive.
Functional Workflow at the Core of the Design
Beyond aesthetics, functionality was paramount. Medical clinics require clear zoning, efficient circulation, and intuitive layouts to support both staff and patients.
The Epichealth clinic was carefully planned to ensure:
- Smooth patient flow from reception to consultation and treatment areas
- Logical staff movement that minimises congestion and inefficiencies
- Well-considered room layouts that support clinical procedures and privacy
- Storage solutions designed to keep spaces uncluttered and operationally efficient
Every design decision was made with daily workflow in mind, ensuring the clinic functions seamlessly while maintaining a calm atmosphere.
A Collaborative Design Process
Collaboration played a crucial role in the success of this project. By working closely with Peggy throughout the design and construction process, we were able to align every detail with her vision and the practical needs of her team.
From early planning through to final delivery, this collaborative approach ensured the clinic not only met compliance requirements but also reflected the values and identity of Epichealth.
