In 2025, we were proud to complete Truganina Healthplus Medical Centre, a purpose-built medical centre designed to deliver a seamless experience for both patients and practitioners. From the initial concept through to handover, every detail of this 580 square meter space was carefully considered to create a functional, welcoming and future-ready healthcare environment.

A Complete Healthcare Destination

Truganina Healthplus Medical Centre brings together a range of essential services under one roof, including:

• Medical Centre
• Allied Health
• Physiotherapy
• Pathology

The goal was to create a space that supports multidisciplinary care while maintaining efficiency, comfort and privacy.

Designed for Flow and Function

One of the most unique aspects of this clinic is its layout. The design creates a natural flow through the space from the moment you walk in, guiding patients from the waiting area and reception, through the clinic, and seamlessly back again.

The open waiting area is bright and welcoming, featuring multiple power points for patient convenience. A custom reception desk comfortably accommodates three reception staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

To balance openness with privacy, batten screens were incorporated as a subtle architectural feature. These provide a visual separation between reception and waiting areas while maintaining a cohesive and modern aesthetic.

Optimising Light and Clinical Efficiency

All GP consultation rooms are positioned along the external perimeter of the building, maximising natural light and creating calm, comfortable spaces for patient consultations.

At the heart of the clinic sits the central hub, a private nurses’ station and treatment area. This core layout was strategically designed to:

• Provide multiple entry points for efficient staff movement
• Include extensive cabinetry and wash basins for clinical functionality
• Feature lockable doors to ensure privacy
• Allow for a dedicated isolation space when required

By centralising clinical operations, staff can move easily throughout the clinic while maintaining patient confidentiality and operational efficiency.

Accessibility and Comfort

The centre also includes multiple toilet facilities, including DDA-compliant amenities to ensure accessibility for all patients.

Every element – from spatial planning to finishes – was intentionally designed to enhance the patient journey while supporting the practical demands of a busy healthcare environment.
