Future-Proofing Community Healthcare in Truganina

Healthcare infrastructure plays a critical role in growing communities, and in fast-developing suburbs like Truganina, thoughtful design matters.

Our recent completion of the medical fitout for Truganina Healthplus Medical Centre wasn’t just about delivering a 580sqm clinic. It was about creating a healthcare environment designed to support the needs of a growing population now and into the future.

Bringing Essential Services Under One Roof

The medical centre integrates GP services, Allied Health, Physiotherapy and Pathology into one cohesive space. For the local community, that means accessible, streamlined care without needing to travel between multiple facilities.

Designed for Modern Patient Expectations

Today’s patients expect more from healthcare environments. Comfort, accessibility and convenience are no longer optional, they’re standard.

The open waiting area includes multiple charging points to accommodate mobile device use, while a generously sized reception desk allows three staff members to operate efficiently during peak periods. Subtle batten screening introduces privacy between reception and waiting areas without closing off the space.

Accessibility was also a key consideration, with multiple amenities including fully compliant DDA toilets to ensure inclusivity for all members of the community.

Built for Adaptability and Care Delivery

At the core of the clinic sits a central nurses’ hub and treatment zone – a secure, highly functional space that supports day-to-day care as well as more complex patient needs.

The design incorporates:

  • Lockable zones for privacy
  • Multiple access points for staff efficiency
  • Integrated cabinetry and wash basins
  • A dedicated isolation capability when required

Positioning all GP consultation rooms along the external walls maximises natural light while allowing the central hub to operate as the clinical heart of the practice. This intentional layout creates a natural flow through the clinic.

Investing in Long-Term Healthcare Infrastructure

Medical fitouts aren’t just interior projects; they’re long-term investments in community wellbeing. By designing spaces that are adaptable, efficient and compliant, clinics like Truganina Healthplus Medical Centre are better positioned to meet increasing demand and evolving healthcare standards.

We explore the layout, flow and design decisions in more detail in the video below, where you can see how the space comes together in practice.
